LIFTING EQUIPMENT INSPECTIONS: CRANES & HOISTS

Make every lift a safe one.

Comprehensive crane, hoist & lifting equipment inspections.

We understand the critical role lifting equipment plays in your operations. Our team of certified experts utilise advanced technology and comprehensive inspection methods to ensure your equipment meets the highest safety and operational standards.

By identifying potential issues before they become problems, we’ll help you avoid costly downtime, enhance workplace safety, and comply with regulatory requirements. Choose PISA for reliable, precise, and proactive inspections that keep your lifting operations running smoothly and securely.

To the highest standards.

We conduct lifting equipment inspections in accordance with the design standards of AS 1418 and the safe use standards of AS 2550, for the relevant lifting asset. By following AS 1418 and AS 2550, PISA ensures that lifting equipment is designed correctly and maintained properly. This minimises the risk of accidents and equipment failure while ensuring compliance with legal and safety requirements.

A closer look.

AS 1418 is a set of Australian standards that specify the design requirements for cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment. It covers aspects such as structural integrity, safety features, and load-bearing capacities to ensure that the equipment is safe to use and can perform its intended functions without risk of failure.

The AS 2550 standards complement AS 1418 by providing guidelines for the safe use and maintenance of lifting equipment. It includes procedures for routine inspections, maintenance schedules, and safe operation practices to ensure that the equipment remains in good working condition and is used safely.

We inspect, test, and certify a range of lifting equipment.

  • Mobile Cranes
  • Jib Cranes
  • Overhead Cranes
  • Vehicle Loading Cranes
  • Monorails
  • Lifting Beams
  • Vehicle Hoists
  • Gravity Take Up (GTU) Winches
  • Telehandlers
  • Forklifts
  • Workbaskets
  • MEWP / Manlift / Boom lift / Scissor lift

Don’t delay.

Regular lifting equipment inspections are essential for a safe, compliant, and efficient operation. When critical inspections are delayed, the potential impacts can be devastating — and extremely costly.

  • Safety hazards

Uninspected lifting equipment can develop hidden faults or weaknesses, which may lead to catastrophic failures. These include dropped loads, equipment collapse, and serious injuries or fatalities to operators and nearby personnel.

  • Operational downtime

Undetected issues can cause unexpected equipment breakdowns, leading to significant operational downtime. This disruption can be costly in terms of lost productivity and emergency repair expenses.

  • Legal & regulatory non-compliance

Lifting equipment is subject to strict regulations and safety standards. Failing to conduct regular inspections can lead to non-compliance, resulting in fines, legal action, and potential shutdowns by regulatory authorities.

  • Financial losses

Beyond immediate repair costs, crane and hoist failures can lead to significant financial losses. This might look like operational delays, higher maintenance costs, contract penalties, increased insurance premiums, and potential legal liabilities.

  • Reduced equipment lifespan

Regular inspections help identify and address minor issues early, extending the lifespan of lifting equipment. Without inspections, equipment may deteriorate faster, leading to premature replacement and increased capital expenditure.

The PISA process.

1.

Book & discuss.

Book your inspection online or give us a call to discuss your assets and needs.  This provides us with an in-depth understanding of your inspection requirements, along with any unique concerns or requests.

2.

Onsite inspection.

We’ll arrange a time and date to send a certified Inspector to your site to conduct a visual inspection. Your PISA Inspector will verbally let you know what’s required to keep your asset safe and compliant.

3.

Inspection report.

After the inspection, we’ll send you a formal quality checked inspection report. This document outlines the compliance status of the lifting equipment, what actions are required to become compliant, and what you need to do to stay compliant.
